A TEXTUALIDADE DAS ASSEMBLEIAS DE DEUS: OS SIGNIFICADOS DOS IMPRESSOS CONFESSIONAIS NO SÉCULO XX

Resumo

O artigo tem por objetivo apresentar parte de pesquisa relacionada ao campo religioso brasileiro na perspectiva da Assembleia de Deus. Para tanto, toma-se por objeto os significados dos impressos confessionais, ou práticas textuais relacionadas ao segmento. Na tentativa de dar respostas aos possíveis significados desses impressos, verificou-se que adquirem valor simbólico tendo em vista um fenômeno da modernidade, a herança livresca da Reforma Protestante e o contexto brasileiro anterior a terceira revolução tecnológica. Além disso, no contexto brasileiro até a década de 1970, os impressos serviram como aporte, tanto para a evangelização, quanto para a conformação de habitus e práticas de leitura. De outro modo, se inscreveram nas estratégias do grupo como bem simbólico nas lutas inerentes ao campo religioso brasileiro.

ABSTRACT

The article aims to present part of research related to the Brazilian religious field from the perspective of the Assembly of God. Therefore, the object is the meanings of confessional forms, or textual practices related to the segment. In an attempt to provide answers to the possible meanings of these forms, it was found that they acquire symbolic value in view of a phenomenon of modernity, the bookish heritage of the Protestant Reformation and the Brazilian context prior to the third technological revolution. In addition, in the Brazilian context until the 1970s, the printed material served as a contribution, both for evangelization and for the shaping of habitus and reading practices. On the other hand, they were inscribed in the group's strategies as symbolic in the struggles inherent to the Brazilian religious field.
