A NATUREZA, IDENTIDADE E PROPÓSITO DA IGREJA FRENTE AOS DESAFIOS DA PÓS-MODERNIDADE

Resumo

O objeto de pesquisa desse artigo é a doutrina da igreja, a Eclesiologia. A natureza, identidade e propósitos da igreja frente aos desafios que na atualidade ameaçam a sua identidade e a sua saúde bíblica. Procura-se, também, analisar o caráter missional da igreja diante de um mundo que cada dia mais, se assume como mundo pós-cristão que rejeita, os valores cristãos como norteadores da sociedade. Alguns desafios do nosso tempo que se colocam diante da liderança são: a influência dos pressupostos da Teologia Liberal do Séculos XIX na academia teológica hoje no Brasil; a igreja inclusiva, o movimento da igreja emergente; a Teologia da Prosperidade; o antropocentrismo, o pragmatismo e os desigrejados. Diante desses grandes desafios, o artigo tem como objetivo geral, refletir sobre a natureza, identidade e propósito da igreja no início do Século XXI, e como objetivos específicos: 1. Verificar os desafios que exigem posicionamentos da tradição cristão diante de posturas atuais em relação à natureza, identidade e propósitos da igreja; 2. Compreender a importância de se reafirmar a natureza e a identidade da igreja com segurança bíblica para os dias atuais; 3. Reafirmar o propósito missional da igreja neste tempo escatológico.

ABSTRACT

The object of research of this article is the doctrine of the church, Ecclesiology. The nature, identity and purposes of the church in the face of the challenges that today threaten its identity and its biblical health. It also seeks to analyze the missional character of the church in the face of a world that increasingly assumes itself as a post-Christian world that rejects Christian values as guiding society. Some challenges of our time facing leadership are: the influence of the assumptions of 19th Century Liberal Theology on the theological academy today in Brazil; the inclusive church, the emerging church movement; Prosperity Theology; anthropocentrism, pragmatism and the homeless. Faced with these great challenges, the article aims to reflect on the nature, identity and purpose of the church in the early 21st century, and the specific objectives: 1. To verify the challenges that require positions of the Christian tradition in the face of current attitudes towards the nature, identity and purposes of the church; 2. Understand the importance of reaffirming the nature and identity of the church with biblical security for the present day; 3. To reaffirm the missional purpose of the church at this eschatological time.
